"I got a girl, she'll knock down any way..."

Today I think I feel like either telling stories, or making lists. So I'll start with lists, and possibly, probably find stories to tell about the lists.

My Top 5 All Time Favorite Songs (at this particular moment):

Now, I know some of you noticed that two of the songs on that list are covers (Scarlet Begonias orginally done by the Grateful Dead, and The Man Who Sold the World orginally by David Bowie). To be honest, I haven't actually heard the originals of either, but I love the covers, obviously. Songs that almost made the list: Pretty much any Goldfinger song, "Space Oddity" - Natalie Merchant (another Bowie cover), "Can't Change Me" - Chris Cornell, "Backwater" - Meatpuppets, "Under the Bridge" and "Breaking the Girl" - Red Hot Chili Peppers, and just about any and every 10,000 Maniacs songs in the Natalie Merchant era.

My Top 5 Favorite Sports Teams:

Yeah, you're right - most of my favorite teams haven't had the best of luck in the past, but I can say that since 1989 each of them have won a championship. In parentheses you'll find the year(s) that they won a championship since 1989. That is a really awkward sentence, but I couldn't figure out how to write it any less so.

Well, I'm running out of ideas for lists. I did two, I'm such a slacker. I sometimes have the attention span of a five year old with ADD. I started making a tentative guest list for the wedding yesterday. The way we're going to do it is to have just family and close friends at the ceremony, and then have a big old party with everyone for our reception. We were talking and said about 60 at the wedding, so I was shooting for 30 on my list. I put down my close friends that I wanted there and then added family... and if family counts against our total of 60 (which it shouldn't, should it?), then I have to trim back a lot. That tentative list had 45 people on it and there were more I wanted to add. Theryn called Liberty Hall and they said it would cost $1500 to rent it for one day. It's a big place and I'd love to have my reception and/or wedding there, but that's a lot of fucking money. I talked to my mom about it and she said she'd help as much as she could, and Theryn's going to talk to her mom about it... that is, of course, after she tells her parents that we're engaged. I don't know why she hasn't yet. You ask her, and if she answers you, let me know what she says.

I can't wait until we move into the new place. I certainly hope Ben has turned in that co-signer thing we all had to turn in so that they can process us and stuff so we can go sign the lease and possibly move in early. Oh how nice that would be to be able to move in like, a week early. We wouldn't have to rent a truck, we could take our time. It would be very nice.
