The date was October 28th, 1978. The place: Topeka, Kansas. The event - the birth of one of what could possibly be one of the most unimportant people of our time. And they called him Joseph.
Yeah, that's right, you figured it out. It was me. My real name is Joseph Edward, but everyone calls me Eddie because my father is also named Joseph. And, no, my real last name isn't Murphy, so no, I am
NOT Eddie Murphy. The story behind why I'm called Murphy, or Mr. Murphy as some of the old school folks know me, is a long and complicated one of which I go into right
here. Oh yeah, and I moved to Lawrence, Kansas three years after birth. Anyway, more about me, cause for some odd reason, you're interested. I grew up in Lawrence, and went through the Lawrence Public School system. Which I liked, I guess. I know I want my children to go through the same schools, but that's just a pipe dream. Anyway, I was a Cordley Comet, a Central Jr. High Mustang, and a
Lawrence Lion. And yeah, I guess I have, like, school pride and stuff. Currently, I am heading into my third and final semester as a freshman at
University of Kansas, majoring in something. (I'll be starting my third year but I'm a semester from being a junior - that's what failing a class your first semester will do for ya) I don't know what I'm going to major in yet, but I'm thinking English or History. In the fall I'm taking a bunch of cool classes, assuming I get the financial aid. Let's see, I took a semester off after high school because frankly, I was sick of school, and then went to
Johnson County Community College for a semester. Decided I didn't like that, and so it was basically pointless to go there at all. It only served to screw up my financial aid because I didn't do well in the one class I had there. Then I decided to move on to KU. I spent my days after high school sleeping and my nights working. Let me tell you, working graveyard shifts really, really sucks. I worked at the Kwik Shop
(This is the only website I could find that even mentioned the Kwik Shop. Can't believe such a wonderful store doesn't have it's own website.), which is
basically a gas station. The customers were stupid, the boss was... well, he was strict to say the least. The co-workers kicked ass, and it was fun having the whole place to myself all night. And for my friends too. Damn moochers. But then I started school and realized that a) I hated the job, and b) I couldn't work graveyards and go to school and retain any ounce of sanity. So, I quit. So I went back to my uncle's bakery, Munchers. It's a good work-there-while-going-to-school job, for there is not a lot to do and when the work is done, homework and friends are always there. But now I've moved on from that 22 hr/week, 5.25/hr job to a nice office job at the University of Kansas Center for Research, Inc. (KUCR). It pays more, and I like it better too.
Special thanks go out to Susan GT for helping me get this job and for all of the other help she's given me.
Music
Sure, you've seen the other pages, but I can't stress how important music is to my life. I honestly think I would die without having a radio. And if I don't go to a show at least once a month, I'm hurting.
I think my longest dry spell was the interim between the 1997 Warped Tour and the October Goldfinger concert. Man, that was terrible. Three months without a decent show. But I digress. That has been surpassed, however.
My main musical interests are punk, ska, and alternative. I used to listen to some really, really crappy music. In grade school it was Bon Jovi and Poison, junior high it was Oasis and 311, but after the Warped Tour '96, I started to listen to punk. A good turn around I believe. I must admit though, I still like Bon Jovi(everything before "Keep the Faith"), and 311 before Transistor.
I think my biggest musical influence, after of course the '96 Warped Tour, would have to be my friend Snw. She sent me a tape once and on it I first heard a lot of things, like Shellac, Blink 182, Horace Pinker, and many more. She's also been a great friend, and been there to listen to me whine when I
needed to. Okay, so this has nothing to do with music, but it's my page and I wanted to thank her. So, thank you, Snw. For everything.
Friends
The combination of good friends and good music has kept me going through the last four or so years. I have many friends, and they're all dear to me, but for the purposes of brevity(hah), I'll only mention the few
who have had recent major impact on my life.
Rodney, aka Rodzilla, 128: I've known my friend Rodney since the seventh grade. We were in the same homeroom
together. The funniest story ever to come out of that class is when I was wearing my father's dog tags(he was a marine in Vietnam), and Rodney asked me who's they were. I told him that they were my father's
and that my father had died in Vietnam. He didn't say anything more, not wanting to tread on sensitive ground. Three years later, after Rodney had moved to a different jr. high, we ended up having a class
together in our first year of high school. He heard me mention my father during that class. He was confused thinking my father was dead. I laughed and told him to do the math. I was born in 1978, my father was in 'Nam in the late 60's... he finally made the connection. He wasn't too pleased with me that I had fooled him like that. He still holds a grudge about that. Heh heh, he probably won't like that I posted that story on the internet, either.
I consider him one of my best friends, and used to... and still do to some extent, trust him with anything. We've been through some shit, but he still remains one of the coolest guys I know. He was the one who
convinced me to go to the Warped Tour '96. He had won tickets, and offered one to me. So we went, and ended up getting back stage passes and cool shit like that. It is my misfortune to not have known at that time, many of the bands playing. I look back on it and realize just what a KICK ASS show it really was. But really ever since that day, I've considered him my bitch.
Then there was the crazy aunt
car chase. Okay, Rodney, Ben, Jessie(Rodney's girl at the time), and I were all goin' out. We had to go back to Rodney's place, which back then was his grandparents' house, to get a CD or something. They aren't home, but he lives there so it's all good. So we pull into the half circle driveway, and his crazy aunt pulls in on the other side. Gets out of her car yelling. So Rodney gets out of the car and they go start
arguing. So there Ben, Jessie and I are, left to wonder just what the fuck is going on. So they're yelling at each other and Rodney walks back to the car with his aunt in tow. He hops in, closes and locks his door and says "Lock your doors". He starts the car and starts to reverse. His aunt starts running after us yelling. Then she gets back into her car and chases us. She chased us from the west side of
town all the way to the northeastern side. At one stoplight, she's right behind us and jumps out of her car yelling "Roll down your window! Get out of the car!!" Rodney was just like, um, no. Green light, Rodney goes. She runs after us! Then runs back to her car to follow. At another point, she passes a car that got in between us, and she had to have been going like 60 or 70 mph in a 30. Rodney finally lost her, driving the best I've ever seen him drive. We took the turnpike from east to west Lawrence and effectively lost her.
Then he told us the story. Seems she'd been camping out there, waiting for him. Saw the people in his car and of course he must have been going to have a party. He was just like "Fuck you" and got into the car. She's fucking crazy. Still is, as a matter of fact. Anyway, that's the crazy aunt story.
There are other stories, that are slowly being added. I haven't updated Rodney's section, or anybody's section for that matter, in a long time. So, here's an attempt. Let's see, I don't know what more I could tell you about Rodney, other than he and I went trick-or-treating one year in junior high school and that his mom knows my mom because my mother decorated his mother's wedding cake. Then there was the Halloween a few years ago, back in high school, when we went downtown dressed up and pretended to kill small children. I had a goalie mask and a trench coat on, and I don't remember what he was wearing. Then there was the Halloween that he, Chuck, Ben, and I went and hung out and sprayed silly string all over the place and made my video. We went behind Wescoe and Chuck pretended to know how to rollerblade and I filmed him. Other than the fact that he was rollerblading, the video, which was for the song "The City With Two Faces" by Goldfinger, turned out pretty good. And I should have probably put that story in the Chuck section, but oh fucking well. Let's see. Oh, yeah - he lives with Courtney and her boyfriend David until August when Courtney moves out. Hopefully Rodney and David will have found a roommate by then.
I could go into the story about how Rodney got drunk a year to the day that we left for the Goldfinger in Iowa concert, then chugged a quarter bottle of gin and collapsed. And how Theryn and I nursed the alcohol poisoned Rodney back to health. But I don't think I'm going to go into that one. There are a lot of good stories I could relate, but I can't fucking remember any of them right now! 06/30/00 - Rodney and I are finally realizing a dream we've had since we graduated high school. August 1, 2000 we're moving into the same apartment. It'll be Me, Theryn, Rodney, and Ben.
Here is the story of how we met a beautiful girl named Jackie.
Here is the story of how I got to know a wonderful girl named Jacque.
And
here is Rodney's story about the Lazer's Clubhouse Christmas.
Here is the story of the trip to Colorado that Rodney, Jacque, and I took to meet Snw.
Ben, aka 22, 40K: I met Ben in my junior year of high school. We were in the same Latin(yech) class. I got to know him though, through another friend in high school, Jason. Seems they had a little bit of a racket going. I won't go into detail, but the story I heard involved Wal-Mart security, basketball cards, and Gak. If you're really curious, email him.
He and I were the innovators, in our group of friends anyway, in going to the Java Break to hang out. I had just got off work at
Sirloin Stockade ("We're big in Mexico"), and I called him up and said "I want to get out of the house. Let's go get some coffee." So we decided to go to the Java
Break. We told our parents we'd only be down there until it closed. Which we know now is a VERY funny statement because the Java Break is open 24 hours a day. So began our going-to-the-java-break-and-playing-cards phase. This lasted for pretty much our entire junior
year. Until we invited Rodney, and some other people to join us. Then we started getting to know people there, and have used it as a meeting place/hang out ever since.
Ben and I have been through a lot together. We flew down to Lake Charles, LA together to meet his friends down there, one of which I fell in love with...Nicole is her name... then seven months later, we went back. We drove this time, and we stopped at Denton and Katy, TX first, and moved on to Natchitoches, LA after. But I found out that this girl is pretty much engaged now,
so that kind put a damper on any hopes I ever had - well, that and my engagement. But I digress. Let's see, Ben was with Rodney and me
on Senior Skip/Prom day when Rodney wrecked his Ford. Ben went with me every time I've seen Natalie Merchant in concert... to get him to go to the first one took some persuading, but he was glad he went. Let's see, we also went to Jewel together, Warped Tour '97, and lots of others.
Ben is also the person responsible for getting me addicted to chats. He
had AOHell, and I got SO addicted to their chat areas. So much so that once I got my computer I got on the internet looking for chats. The first one I found was Healthy Choice Chat Rooms - RIP. We met a lot of cool people there, including Leah, but as far as chats go - it sucked. Lucky for me, I stumbled upon telnet talkers. The only one I ever stuck with was Beyond the Grave. I've been an addict ever since.
As far as music goes, he shares my "alternacrap" taste in music. He and Rodney are polar opposites when it comes to music and I'm the in-between. Rodney is primarily punk, Ben primarily... "chick rock". I'm a combo of both. Liking everything from Natalie Merchant to the Deftones. I could go on and on, but I won't. I'll end Ben's part by saying that he is fucking cool, and will always be one of my best
friends.
But now, I think I'll continue. I suppose I should write something here about the whole Theryn situation. Despite what he at one time believed, and I hope doesn't believe anymore, Theryn and I never plotted against him. She and I were never more than friends, and never even thought about being more than friends until after they broke up. Granted, I thought she was really cool. And I did think that if he hadn't met her first, that I would like to date her. However, Ben is my friend and I wouldn't fuck over a friend like that. As Jacque puts it, "bro's before ho's"... not that Theryn is a ho, but you get the idea. Despite all the whining and bitching he did, Ben handled the fact that Theryn and I did end up falling in love rather well. If he were any less of a person he would have flipped and hated us both or something just as drastic. So yeah, it's all cool now and he says he's happy for us.
He bought a 1980 Ford Pinto the other day. A cute chick named Scarlet rear-ended his Ford Festiva a while back, so he got money from insurance and bought a Pinto. It was a good deal - one owner, 43,000 miles, and only $1300. It's very him. And now, he came into some money, and has bought a 1997 Honda Accord. It's really fun to drive.
Let's see, on August 1st, 1999 he and I along with Theryn and a friend of ours named Karen, all got a place together. Over Christmas Break '98, I was staying with Theryn at her apartment a lot because her roommates were gone, and Ben was staying there too because the dorms were closed, and we all realized that a living situation like that wouldn't be all that bad. It might actually be cool. So, there you have it. A little under two years ago I started dating Ben's ex-girlfriend and now we're all living together. Shows the strength of the friendships I would say.
11/9/99: Ben has a girlfriend! Woohoo!
Here is Ben's story about our second trip to Louisiana.
Theryn, aka the girl that I'm in love with, my soulmate, crazy rabbit, and 36: What more can I say? Well, I could start by telling you how I met her. It was in November, and she was dating Ben. We got to know each other, and became almost best friends. Then, the first week of February, they broke up. After they broke up, Theryn and I realized that there
were mutual more-than-friends feelings, and we decided to date. And yes, dating my best-friend's ex-girlfriend has been weird. But it is not so weird any more, for all three people have learned to deal with
it.
"Theryn is just so... so cool." I feel that I can tell her anything. Which leads me to believe the old adage that "Communication is the most important part of a relationship". She's incredibly smart(way smarter than me), funny, beautiful, and just plain fun to be around. There is so much more I want to say... finding the words to say it is the difficult part. She means the world to me, and I can't ever imagine not
being with her. I love her more every day. And we knew we were going to marry each other when we both got out of college and she got out of the peace corps after college (she's two years ahead of me in school). That's still true, but as of July 4th, 1998, it is official. I proposed and she accepted. So yes, I am now engaged. Isn't that awesome/fucked-up/cool/weird/neat? She lived in Parsons, Kansas from August through the first week of November 1998. It sucked a lot, but I dealt with it - only because that's all I can do. Well, I suppose I could have gone insane, and/or drive down there everyday - but my car wouldn't make it. But if I were insane, I'd have stolen my mother's car... and look at me rambling. Anyway, I am so totally in love with Theryn. I went to Parsons for about four days to visit her, and there I met her roommate. Her roommate at one point asked me how long I'd know Theryn. I told her I'd known her for nine months and we'd been dating for six. She then wanted to know how I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with Theryn after only having known her for such a short period of time. The answer was, "I just know..." And it's true. I can't explain it, and when it happens to you, you won't be able to explain it either. Sometimes you just come to realizations that you know are facts, and I realized a while back that Theryn was the one I was meant to be with. Unfortunately, her brother and father want to kill me. They think I'm "too much of a gimp" to be dating her. And that whole side of her family thinks that Theryn is taking money out of her mutual fund and giving it to me. Her grandmother found out we were going to live together and... well, I'll let you read it in Theryn's words. Oh well. This'll all just make the wedding and family dinners all the more exciting. 06/30/00 - We've finally set a date. Our wedding will be June 9, 2001 if everything goes according to plan. Have we started planning? Ask me in a couple weeks.
Avery, aka the man in the van, that damned hippie, 84: I met Avery in the third grade. As many of you know, I consider grade school to be one of the happiest times of my life. Sad, yes, but it was. Back in grade school, though, Avery was the weird guy who wore his socks up to his knees even while wearing shorts. Then in about seventh or eighth grade (aka the first two years of hell), Avery and I got to know each other and became good friends. I don't honestly remember why we started to become friends, but I'm glad we did.
Avery is responsible for getting me into reading fantasy/sci-fi novels. It was he who first introduced me to the writings of David Eddings, and Terry Brooks. Avery went with me when I attended my first concert ever, Lollapalooza '94. He also took me to the KC Renaissance Festival, after which I was hooked. I look forward to the RenFest every year.
Avery is one of the constants in my life, and even though I sometimes kid that I don't like him or whatever, it'd be really weird if he weren't around. Though, nowadays, he's not around very much. Ever since he went to California, and came back a full-fledged hippie, it's been like the Avery I knew stayed in California. The one that came back is now a homeless-by-choice hippie drug dealer. Sad, really. 11/9/99: We haven't seen Avery for quite some time. He said he was going to California for a week or so and that he'd be back. That was several months ago. I hope he's okay. 06/30/00 - After Avery came back from California a full-fledged hippie he went on a couple more trips after that one and he almost died in Kentucky. Right now he's living in his van on 8th street between Kentucky and Tennessee. Kind of ironic...
Charles, aka Chuck, Crash, Hyper, the pizza line guy, 187: Chuck has to be one of the FUNNIEST people that I know. Whenever I'm around him, I'm laughing almost constantly. I met Chuck, believe it or not, at a church youth group. We were the Free Methodist Youth. It was at this HUGE church on the "ritzy" side of town. I stopped going eventually when I decided that I didn't like being sneered at and looked down upon. Looking back on it, I should have just like wailed on them. But I was in like, seventh grade and still hadn't come out of my shell.
But I digress.
Chuck was one of the few cool people there. We became friends, but lost touch when I stopped going. Then I started high school, and he was there, a year ahead of me. He knew my sister, and we resumed our friendship. We started hanging out when he started work at Shitloin Stockade. God I hated that place. I had a nightmare the other night. In it, I went back to Shitloin and begged for my job back, and started working there again. It was AWFUL!!!! But again, I digress.
Where was I? Oh yeah, he started working at Shitloin and one day we just decided to go down to the Java Break and get some coffee. This became a regular thing. It was with Chuck, at the Java Break, that I tried my first Swisher Sweet Mini-Cigar and if I remember correctly, my first "real" cigar too. Cigars are good. Though, I don't smoke them very often anymore. That whole bad breath thing wouldn't go over too well with Theryn. Woah, I think I'll stop writing about Chuck now cause I digress too much when talking about him. He's pretty damned cool.
Ryan, aka Radio Airplay Boy, Hash, 24; and Sean, aka Nitcher, the mix-master, 19: To put these two guys on my page separately would have been... well, stupid. For some odd reason, when I think of one, I think of the other. It could be that they're almost always together, and when they aren't they're planning to be.
I met Sean first, in driver's ed. during the summer before my sophomore year of high school. When I met him, I could have sworn I'd met him
before. I still think that but can't for the life of me remember where. Anyway, we met there and became pretty good friends. We drove the same car on the range, and would have brake fights. While one was driving, the other would slam down on the passenger emergency brake. Then, when it was time to switch drivers, the driver would pull up on the parking brake as hard and far as he could, so that the next guy would have a hell of a time getting undone. He usually won the latter. It wasn't until he graduated a year before me that I realized he was a year ahead of me in school. Boy, that was random. Oh well. Anyway, we started hanging out in my senior year, mostly because Ryan knew him too. The first... and second times I got drunk.. it was Sean who was mixing the drinks. I had tried ALL night on New Year's Eve to get drunk, but I was mixing my own drinks, and it couldn't be done. Then, I went to another party, and Sean was there. He mixed three drinks for me and I was gone. I drank them out of a flower vase. It was cool. The drinks were... first I had Avalanche with lemonade, then Aftershock with lemonade, then Avalanche and Aftershock with a bit of lemonade. Yeah, I got plastered. Then, I went with Ben to play pool... and I beat him! Can you believe that?! And he also sold me my first pentium computer, which I'm still paying him for... and I'm behind on my payments... sorry Sean.
Okay, on to Ryan. I met Ryan in my senior year computer class with Mrs. Groh(blech!). I think the thing that got us talking was probably football. He being a Chiefs fan and me wearing a Denver Broncos coat to class. Nichole was in that class too. God, I haven't seen Nichole since I was working at Munchers. *sigh* Anyway, Ryan and I got to be
friends, had a mutual friend in Jeremy, and started hanging out in the summer after graduating. Ryan and I went out and bought University
of Rhode Island hats when URI beat KU in the NCAA tournament. Ryan was the guy I hung onto when I was drunk for the first time and walked to the Kwik Shop on 9th Street. Hmmm. Not much more to say about Ryan, except that he's a pretty damned cool guy and he and Sean are great to hang out with.
Leah, aka Red, 24Karatop, Bag o' Leah, devilgrrl, and my Red Headed Atheist Goddess: It was about... three or four years ago that I met Leah. I met her on the first internet talker I went to when I got my computer. That was, of course, the Healthy Choice Chat Rooms - RIP. I don't remember exactly what was said, or who said it first, but I know it was
said in Latin(yech), and thusly we started talking because we were both living the hell that is a Latin(yech) class. When we met she told me that she was fifteen. At the time I was only... 16 going on 17, so I
was like "Okay, cool." Not that it would have mattered anyway, but anyone who has been using chats/talkers for a while knows that it's cool to talk to someone near your age. Anyway, she said she was fifteen,
but I know now that she was telling me a little white lie. But I've forgiven her that, because I love her so. Forgiven, but obviously not forgotten. Heh. Yeah.
Okay, so she and I talked and started writing letters and such, and she'd met Ben, cause I'd brought him to Healthy Choice too. So it was cool. Over the next couple of years we became really close. Then, the first week of January this year, Ben and I drove down to Denton to see her. It was so awesome. She was everything I had expected and more. I mean, you can get to know a person really well through email and letters and pictures, etc, but to finally be able to see their facial expressions, the way they use their hands when they talk, their mannerisms, etc... it's just.. the ultimate. Leah IS the bomb! And she's a redhead. Heh. I just had to get that in there. Leah is a wonderful person, and deserves only the very best in life. And knowing her, she'll get it. Even if she has to take it. 11/9/99Leah's in NYC now, attending Columbia University. She's said she's doing well and we all wish her the best.
Jeremy aka Skier Man, and Rodney's cousin: I met Jeremy in junior high school, aka, hell. He was in my Spanish class in ninth
grade, but I'm sure I met him before that. In what class I don't know. I think it was one of the days that I was walking home, and Avery was with me. We just started talking to him. During the first few months or so that we knew him, this developed into Avery and myself using him as a punching bag. I don't recall exactly why we bullied him, but we did. It was "friendly" bullying, but bullying nonetheless.
Anyway, that subsided after we got to know him better. He turned out to be a damned cool guy. He was/is a Scooby Doo fanatic, a sports fanatic (it's unfortunate that he likes the Chiefs and Royals), and he writes really funny stories about his friends and Scooby-Doo. Plus, he write the best Pick-Sheets(tm) I've ever filled out. He also has to be the best coupon-clipper that I've ever seen.
He went with me to Ween our sophomore year. I won tickets the day of the show, and we went, but he had to leave before Ween even came on
stage and there was no re-admittance. No big deal. I don't really even like Ween, I just wanted to go to a show.
He goes to the Univerity of Iowa now and his parents are moved to Indiana for a year. It's all good, though. There's always email. But yeah, he's a damned cool guy. And hey, he likes Rocky Top!
Jamie aka Motocrossg: I met Jamie online, through Rodney and Ben. Got to know her better and found that she was really fucking cool. I'm not sure exactly when we met her online, but in early January of 1998, Ben and I took a road trip through Texas and Louisiana. One of our stops was in Katy, TX - to visit Jamie. All we were expecting was at least a floor to sleep on. What we got was one of the best home cooked meals we've ever had, Jamie gave me her bed (can you believe that?), and hospitality in general like you wouldn't believe. We were astounded. We still can't thank them enough. While we were down there we just hung out in Houston, played on her Playstation and met Cara. It was an awesome experience and one that I'm not soon to forget. Jamie's the best. We got to see her again back in, March of '99, I think. Rodney, Ben and I drove to St. Louis to see Rodney's brother Robbie race motocross and we met up with Jamie there. It was cool.
Tara aka "Tara piece of paper", PornStar, and 384: I met Tara for real the night after my prom. I had known of her before, but never actually met her. Night after prom, Rodney, Chuck, Graham, and I were all walking around downtown. We were walking when we came upon Tara and Erin. There for quite a while, they were just that, "Tara and Erin"... nearly inseparable. But I digress. Anyway, they walk around with us, we shoot the shit and then we had to walk Erin home. I don't remember much of what happened after that other than some flirting and I know I
carried her on my back part way from Erin's house back to my car. Yeah, after that, I saw why Ben thought she was so fucking cool. Cause, she is. Anyway, let's see. She's the reason I say "stuff..." all the time, and therefore the reason this page is called stuff and unspecified material. I looked up stuff in the dictionary one time, and unspecified material is how it was defined. Yeah. Let's see. I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff, but oh well. She'll correct me if she ever reads this. Oh yeah, there was that night in Jim's "Bordello of Sin", aka his bedroom... but I won't go into that. It happened the day after I got back from Louisiana the first time. Uhm... yeah. She's cool. And she's going to be a mechanic and open up a garage that all the mechanics are women dressed in bikinis and the guys can stand around and watch their cars being fixed by these girls. And of course, she'll be the master mechanic and make millions. But that's all after she gets out of the army and becomes a porn star. Yeah. Tara is one of the coolest,
sweetest, stuff-ist girls I know.
Courtney: Funny, I can't think of anything I've ever called her or heard her called on a regular basis other than Courtney. But anyway. I've known Courtney since she got here in fifth grade. I remember Luke
telling me about his friend from blah blah that was so cool and was coming here. I was like, yeah, that's cool. Then I met her. She turned out to be this awesome girl, who eventually reached 'goddess' status. I asked her to "go with me" once in grade school... or rather, I had Luke ask her for me. The offer was rejected. So, I contented myself with just being her friend. She's like my sister now... only
- I don't want to fuck my sister. But I digress.
Courtney and I lost touch in ninth grade... at the end of the year she signed my
yearbook "I don't know why you're mad at me, but I still love you anyway". Funny thing was, I thought she was mad at me. So we wasted and entire year thinking the other was mad. Then in high school we lost touch again, mainly because we never saw each other. Never had class one with her. But after we got out of high school we got back in touch,
how so I do not remember, but we did. And now we hang out again and it's all good.
Let's see - interesting stories. Uhm... I once had a party at my house, in junior high, so that she could throw herself at our friend Tim. Much cleavage was shown that night. I'm sure he appreciated it, but as far as I know - even to this day - Tim's asexual. I mean, he didn't even
bat an eye.
I realized a dream of mine at one of her parties a while back. I was drunk and everybody was kissing everybody else, as is the norm
at her parties, so I kissed her. A couple times. It was sweet. I mean, it was just a peck, but I had always wanted to kiss her. So it was cool. Let's see... there was moey-in-the-middle... exchange city... the night she tried to kill Luke... Adie's swimming party - I think
she was there - and yeah. Whole bunches of stuff. She's been a constant in my life(even when she wasn't really in my
life), and I love her dearly and would do anything for her any day of the week, any time of day, any day of the month... I think you get the idea. Courtney also holds the distinction of being the only girl I've ever gone to a nudie bar with.
Karen aka Tweety, Special K, Karebear, 08: Let's see, I met Karen through Rodney in my senior year of high school. She and Rodney were kind of going out for a while. We kept in pretty good touch after that, seeing as we were in the same high school. Rodney and I would often see her after school at her locker. It was there that I gave her my Cardigans CD, because well, I thought it sucked and she liked them. Anyway, after high school we would only occasionally see each other and every time we would we'd tell the other one to call. Soon after I started dating Theryn, I was dying my hair for the first or second time. I was at Rodney's and Karen paged me. I couldn't figure out why she was paging me. Rodney said it was because I had a girlfriend - that since I had a girlfriend the women would be coming out of the woodwork wanting me. The truth was, she was cleaning her room and happened upon the paper on which my pager number was written. So she called me. After that, we still didn't really hang out that much. But then spring semester of my freshman year at KU, I took a psych class. And after a few classes, I saw Karen was in the same class. So we sat by each other the rest of the class.
While catching up with her, she said she was going to need a place to live when her lease is up at the end of July. I told her that Ben, Theryn, and I were looking for a roommate for that same time. So, she met Ben and Theryn, we all agreed to live together, and we hang out all the time now. We finally found a place to live and moved in on August 1st, 1999.
Karen's pretty cool. And damn cute, too! Heh. She loves Tweety Bird and umm... yeah. That's about all I can think to say right now. Other than Karen is one groovy gal. A little side note - in trying to find the tweety that is above, I looked through so much tweety bird stuff... it's insane!
Honorable Mentions
There are so many people who need to be on this list that I'm not going to write out the list - gotta save space!

Okay, so I got around to getting to a scanner and I've put pictures of most of these people online. I even put up some of myself. Enjoy.
